Every story of innovation begins in a simple place, often far from the spotlight. FST’s journey began just like that: it was 1999 when, in the heart of Fom Industrie — a leader in the production of aluminum and PVC processing machines — an ambitious idea began to take shape: to create a dedicated software house capable of developing digital solutions to optimize production processes in the window and door industry.
From this vision, in 2005, Fom Software Technology was born — a small internal unit that, like many great companies in tech history, took its first steps fueled by passion, expertise, and a pioneering spirit.
Among boxes, computers, and piles of technical manuals, we laid the foundations of a dream: to create customized software that is easy to use and capable of optimizing business processes — from configuration to planning to machine data management.
Today, 20 years later, we look back with pride. What began as a small IT lab has become a benchmark, especially for the window and door industry.
Our secret? We’ve never stopped collaborating closely with those who use our software every day. We work side by side with machine manufacturers, extruders, and industry associations to develop applications that are always up-to-date and aligned with new market challenges.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned in these 20 years, it’s that innovation never stops. Today we are developing new digital solutions focused on the future of Industry 4.0. Our mission is to continue simplifying and optimizing production processes to make them increasingly efficient and competitive.
But reaching this milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the people who believed in us from the start: our clients, our partners, and above all, our team. To them goes our deepest thanks for having shared this extraordinary journey with us.
And so, as in every success story, we started small… but our journey has only just begun.
